Victorian Switched Socket 2 Gang Antique Brass Lacquered

A 2 gang switched socket on a Victorian style plate made from solid brass with an Antique Brass Lacquered finish.The Victorian plate is flat with simple clean styling that was a characteristic of the Victorian era when practicality and simplicity were the focus. It will suit many styles from traditional and period to contemporary. It can be fitted directly to the wall, but if preferred can be mounted onto a wooden pattress (see link below). This gives the benefit of extra space for the wiring (enabling it to be used with a 25mm back box), and can also cover up messy plastering that might otherwise be visible. Using a pattress with any item in this range also complements our period dome switches.The Antique Brass finish is lacquered with lighter and darker antique tones. It should not be polished with abrasive polishes/cleaners as this will break down the lacquer. Clean with a soft damp cloth followed by an application of a quality wax polish to prolong the life of the lacquer.This high quality socket is made in the UK.A particular feature of our plug sockets is that the plate can be taken off easily (leaving the connections safely in place) for example for redecoration purposes or for cleaning of unlacquered plates so that you don't risk getting polish on your wall.We recommend using a minimum 35mm depth backbox with this product to give a comfortable amount of space for the grid (the switch or socket mechanism) and wiring behind the plate.Dimensions:Height: 85mm; Width: 145mm
