A dual voltage shaver socket with transformer, appropriate for use with either 115v or 230v 2 pin shavers/toothbrushes on a Victorian style plate made from solid brass with a Polished Brass Unlacquered finish.The Victorian plate is flat with simple clean styling that was a characteristic of the Victorian era when practicality and simplicity were the focus. It will suit many styles from traditional and period to contemporary. It can be fitted directly to the wall, but if preferred can be mounted onto a wooden pattress (see link below). This gives the benefit of extra space for the wiring (enabling it to be used with a 25mm back box), and can also cover up messy plastering that might otherwise be visible. Using a pattress with any item in this range also complements our period dome switches.Unlacquered polished brass is a living finish that will mellow over time. To start with it is bright and shiny, but it will age and develop a rich dark patina that has lighter areas where it is handled. It can be left to age like this indefinitely or can be polished with a metal polish to restore to bright and shiny as new. Leaving the plates to age naturally is a popular choice in period and traditional settings as the characterfulness can be more in keeping.
