The Vented Transmission Top Cover will reduce or even eliminate the oil coming from the head breathers on your M8. – FEATURES: Reduce or even eliminate the oil coming from the head breathers on your M8. Machined from Billet Aluminum with a Boyesen one-way reed valve to vent the excessive crankcase pressure. No annoying hose on your dipstick to worry about when checking your oil. Free up horsepower on M8 engines by allowing to rev easier. – NOTES: The Vented Transmission Top Cover for M8 is an oil tank vent system that was created to relieve excess pressure from the oil tank system . On the 2019 & earlier M8 motorcycles there is NOT a seal between the oil pump body & the crankcase, inside the cam chest. H-D incorporated this seal in late 2019. RE: bulletin M1450, seal H-D part number 62400205. This prevents the pressure from the crankcase from getting pushed into the cam chest through the pinion bearing. Check with your dealer to see if this update has been done.
