Description   Global West offers modified lower control arms for 1964, 1965,and 1966 Mustangs. The arms are machined to except a spherical bearing instead of a rubber or polyurethane bushing. The arms are also reinforced along the beam of the arm. These arms are mainly used for vintage road racing where tubular arms are not allowed. They can be used on the street but most go with the TBF-5 tubular arm because it is rebuild-able. What does this arm have to offer: Plates reinforce the beam of the control arm to provide additional strength. The rubber bushing is removed and the arm is machined to accept a bearing housing. The housing is then welded to the arm and a spherical bearing is installed. The bearing allows the arm to pivot freely without bind, plus eliminates deflection at the bushing location thus keeping the alignment more precise during hard cornering. Drag racers will also have an advantage using these lower arms because of no bushing drag when the car rises. Installation is as simple as changing the stock lower arm.
