Georgian Rocker Light Switch 2 Gang Antique Satin Brass

Two rocker switches on a Georgian style plate made from solid brass with an Antique Satin Brass finish.The Georgian style of plate is characterized by the rope detailing around the edge that is associated with this particular period and architectural style. This design can also be found in other architectural items from the period such as door furniture and lighting. It is a quality, heavy cast plate that also has a practical advantage of being slightly larger than some other plate styles (whilst still fitting to a standard back box) so can be useful to cover up messy plastering around the plate edge.The antique satin brass finish is produced by hand in our workshop and beautifully complements other items of door and window furniture in our extensive range. It is a living finish that is unlacquered so it will oxidise as it is exposed to the air and it will mellow and develop a richer patina with age and use. It can be polished back to achieve a lighter brighter finish or left to age further. This natural ageing combined with the hand crafted nature of the finish means that there may be differences in colour and detail. This all adds to the beauty, character and individuality of each product. Do bear this in mind if you are buying items over a period of time.The high quality rocker switch mechanisms are made in the UK by Wandsworth and rated at 20A. They are available as 2 Way or Intermediate. A 2 way switch is suitable for lights that only require switching from up to 2 places, whereas the intermediate switch would be required if the light is to be operated from more than 2 places (for example in hallways and on landings). A particular feature of our rocker switches is that the plate can be taken off easily (leaving the connections safely in place) for example for redecoration purposes or for cleaning of unlacquered plates so that you don't risk getting polish on your wall.We highly recommend using a minimum 35mm depth backbox with this product to give a comfortable amount of space for the grid (the switch or socket mechanism) and wiring behind the plate.Height: 96mm; Width: 96mm
