Description Porcelain hand painted wall plaque by Brownie Downing. Measures approximately 20cm in height x 10cm wide. Australian born Brownie was an extraordinary woman who led an extraordinary life. She died in 1995 aged 71 years of age in her home in Spain. Generations of children and adults have enjoyed her illustrations of the Australian bush and inhabitants through sketches, watercolours, porcelain items & children’s books. Her success lay in an ability to capture the simple naive beauty and innocence of children and wildlife.
