Description Sold Individually 1″ Front Coil Spring Spacer = approximate 2″ Lift (Aluminum) 1 3/8″ Lift Rear Coil Spring Spacer Global West offers coil spring spacers for several GM applications; this one is for the 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964 Impala, Biscayne–in addition to the 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, and 1982 Corvette. Spacers are used to raise the vehicles ride height if it is too low, leveling purposes if the car tilts to one side, and for weight jacking if the car is being raced. For most applications, coil spring spacers are installed under the coil spring between the spring and the lower control arm. Front End: Selecting a coil spring spacer for the front end is a simple formula; one-inch at the spring equals two at the body. This applies to most Ford and GM models we deal with. Example 1: Let’s say you want to raise your 1969 Camaro one-inch in the front. You would purchase two 1/2-inch spacers; one for each side. They install between the lower arm and spring. Your ride height will go up approximately one full inch. Example 2: Let’s say you want to raise the front of your GTO 1-1/2 inches because you cut too much off the spring. Using the formula one at the spring is two at the body, a 3/4-inch spacer is required to lift the front end up 1-1/2 inches. Rear End: If used on the rear, the spacer raises it 1 3/8″.
