Wembley Ware Tray – Seagull

Description Australian made Wembley Ware Tray/Dish featuring a seagull.  Measures 13cm x 15.5cm. The company Calyx Porcelain & Paint was established in 1921.  Wembley Ware was manufactured at its Subiaco factory in Western Australia from 1946 to 1961 and was  known for its ornate designs and lustrous glazes, reflecting a post WWII optimism and a desire for decorative household items that were uniquely Australian.  The factory closed in 2006, although the parent company Australian Fine China, continued operations in other locations within Australia.
