- A 1 gang unswitched 5 Amp round pin socket on an Edwardian style plate made from solid brass with a Polished Brass Lacquered finish.The Edwardian plate is stylish and elegant being characterized by the fabulous double stepped edge. It is a quality, heavy cast plate that also has a practical advantage of being slightly larger than some other plate styles (whilst still fitting to a standard back box) so can be useful to cover up messy plastering around the plate edge.Lacquered Polished Brass should retain the bright shiny appearance for a period and should not be polished with abrasive polishes/cleaners as this will break down the lacquer. Like paint and varnish, with use and over time the lacquer will break down causing the items to look “scruffy” and require attention. Clean with a soft damp cloth followed by an application of a quality wax polish.This high quality socket is made in the UK and is the perfect way to control table and floor lamps from lighting switches or control gear.A particular feature of our sockets is that the plate can be taken off easily (leaving the connections safely in place) for example for redecoration purposes or for cleaning of unlacquered plates so that you don't risk getting polish on your wall.We recommend using a minimum 35mm depth backbox with this product to give a comfortable amount of space for the grid (the switch or socket mechanism) and wiring behind the plate.Dimensions:Height: 96mm; Width: 96mm
