Three rocker switches on an Edwardian style plate made from solid brass with a Polished Brass Unlacquered finish.The Edwardian plate is stylish and elegant being characterized by the fabulous double stepped edge. It is a quality, heavy cast plate that also has a practical advantage of being slightly larger than some other plate styles (whilst still fitting to a standard back box) so can be useful to cover up messy plastering around the plate edge.Unlacquered polished brass is a living finish that will mellow over time. To start with it is bright and shiny, but it will age and develop a rich dark patina that has lighter areas where it is handled. It can be left to age like this indefinitely or can be polished with a metal polish to restore to bright and shiny as new. Leaving the plates to age naturally is a popular choice in period and traditional settings as the characterfulness can be more in keeping. Each rocker switch is available as 2 Way or Intermediate. A 2 way switch is suitable for lights that only require switching from up to 2 places, whereas the intermediate switch would be required if the light is to be operated from more than 2 places (for example in hallways and on landings).
