A single dolly switch on an Edwardian style plate made from solid brass with a hand aged finish.The Edwardian plate is stylish and elegant being characterized by the fabulous double stepped edge. It also has a practical advantage of being slightly larger than some other plate styles (whilst still fitting to a standard back box) so can be useful to cover up messy plastering around the plate edge.Hand Aged Brass is antiqued by hand as a bespoke service by our specialist Crafstman. Clean with a soft damp cloth followed by an application of a quality wax polish. The high quality dolly switch mechanism is made in the UK and is rated at 20A. It is available as 2 Way, Intermediate, Double Pole or Retractive. A 2 way switch is suitable for operating lights that only require switching from up to 2 places, the intermediate switch would be required if the light is to be operated from more than 2 places (for example in hallways and on landings). The double pole switch can operate more than one circuit and a retractive switch is used for momentary contact to operate items such as electric blinds and roof lights etc.A particular feature of our dolly switches is that the plate can be taken off easily (leaving the connections safely in place) for example for redecoration purposes or for cleaning of unlacquered plates so that you don't risk getting polish on your wall.We highly recommend using a 35mm backbox with this product to give a comfortable amount of space for the grid (the switch or socket mechanism) and wiring behind the plate.
